The official launch of MYEcoPlan, which took place at Double Tree by Hilton Johor Baharu on 21 June 2022, was graced by YBrs. TPE Dr. Alias bin Rameli (Director General of PLANMalaysia) and Pn. Khairun Nisa Zabidi (representative from British High Commission Malaysia); together with also YB Datuk Dr. Badrul Hisham bin Kassim (Chief Executive of Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA)), TPr Nik Noraisu Binti Nik Ibrahim (Director of Research and Development Division, PLANMalaysia), Pn. Zarina Binti Hj Ali (Deputy Secretary of Majlis Bandaraya Iskandar Puteri) and representatives from selected local authorities.

MYEcoPlan system is the first web-based portal system, which allows town planners to assess existing GHG emissions and generate carbon reduction scenarios by applying different low carbon initiatives. This tool aims to provide local authorities with better decision-making processes for low carbon development design.

In Phase 1, MYEcoPlan system has been applied successfully in our pilot project area, Nusajaya (MBIP), and has received good feedback from the local council. Currently, in Phase 2, MYEcoPlan is expanding the coverage to cover the entire MBIP region and replicates in 3 other local authorities, including Majlis Perbandaran Pengerang (MPP), Majlis Perbandaran Langkawi Bandaraya Pelancongan (MPLBP) and Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam (MBSA), considering their interests and commitments in low carbon development.
