Open dumping grounds or dumpsites, are low cost option for disposal the abundance of municipal solid waste generated in Malaysia.

The lack of proper design for pollution control and prevention results in surrounding environment contaminated and often give rise to a number of problems.

Uncontrolled leachate generated from the dumping ground contains high pollutant strength. If not treated before discharging, such act will pollute the nearby water sources as well as the soil it seeps through.

The landfill gas containing methane, often not trapped and release to the atmosphere is one of the global warming contribution in the country. The odour from the uncontrolled release is often a source of complaints and nuisance to nearby inhabitants.

Eco-Ideal is assisting a client to conduct a comprehensive impact studies of such open dumping sites and subsequently to look into means to improve the current situations.
