Iskandar Malaysia (IM) will be the first region to conduct a comprehensive Greenhouse Gas Inventory exercise at a regional level using the internationally recognised city level accounting and reporting standard by World Resources Institute in Malaysia.

Eco-Ideal Consulting Sdn. Bhd will head the team, together with the Local Carbon Asia Research Centre of University Technology Malaysia, will be assisting Iskandar Region Development Authority (IRDA) to develop the first GHG Inventory for year 2015.

The GHG Inventory at regional level will be a basis for IM to monitor and track their GHG emissions and to set relevant policies, strategies and action plans to reduce the emissions from the region. This will eventually contribute to Malaysia’s international climate change commitment to the United Nations.
