Visit to exhibition booth by the Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government, Y.B. Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Lajim bin Haji Ukin and the Ambassador of Denmark to Malaysia, His Excellency Svend Wæver.

On 26th and 27th January 2010, a seminar presenting all the community initiatives and educational fund projects carried out by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (MHLG) with the support from Danish International Development Assistance (DANIDA) has been held at Holiday Inn Glenmarie Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Eco-Ideal staffs as the national short term advisors for the projects have participated in organising the successful event.  A total number of 200 participants which consisted of representatives from almost all the local authorities in Peninsular Malaysia and selected organisations have attended the two-day seminar. The said organisations were Centre for Environment Technology and Development Malaysia (CETDEM), Global Environment Centre (GEC), Malaysian Nature Society (MNS), Beautiful Gate Foundation for the Disabled, Natural Resources and Environment Board, Semai Alam Sdn. Bhd., Social Economic Research Institute (SERI), Department of Environment, Department of Education, Department of Health, Economic Planning Unit, Solid Waste Contractor Association of Malaysia (SOWACO), Waste Management Association of Malaysia (WMAM), Institut Tadbiran Awam Negara (INTAN) Sabah, Justlife Group Sdn. Bhd. and waste concessionaires.

The seminar was jointly launched by the Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government, Y.B. Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Lajim bin Haji Ukin and the Ambassador of Denmark to Malaysia, His Excellency Svend Wæver.

Among the main highlights of the seminar were choir performances and multimedia video presentation during the opening plenary session. A total of 12 speakers have presented the DANIDA projects on 3R, glass recycling, household waste composting, bulky waste management, benefits of making eco-enzyme, etc. during the workshops. In addition, a few local authorities and organisations also had chances to exhibit and introduce their projects to the participants such as the food waste segregation and composting project by Majlis Perbandaran Subang Jaya and making of eco-enzyme by the Beautiful Gate Foundation for the Disabled
