Palm oil mill effluent (POME) generated from palm oil processing is a high strength industrial wastewater which needs to be treated before any safe discharge to the environment.

Recovering energy from the POME is becoming popular through the installation of anaerobic digestion systems and the biogas captured can be used to power up specially designed gas engines.

A client of ours in Tawau has recently achieved the Initial Operation Date (IOD) and will be going for the full commencement under the feed in tariff system offered by the government early January 2017. 2 MW export of clean, renewable energy is expected to be uploaded to the State grid of Sabah.

Eco-Ideal is assisting our client in the feed in tariff management for this project. We were also involved in the clean development mechanism (CDM) project development and project registration.
