“The Project for Model Development for e-waste Collection, Segregation and Transportation from Households for Recycling” funded by the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has launched an e-waste collection pilot project in Penang on 2nd June 2012.

The pilot project involving home appliance shops and mobile phone shops targets to collect television set, refrigerator, washing machines, air-conditioners, personal computer, printer, mobile phone and others. A voucher system has been introduced to encourage the participation.
