Solid Waste Management

How do rural folks deal with their rubbish?

Much effort has been placed on solid waste management in the urban areas in recent years. The new Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Act 2007 will include all solid waste generated, including areas outside normal service area provided by the government.

In collaboration with several key governmental organisations such as the Department of National Solid Waste Management, Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Corporation, Ministry of Health and so forth, Eco-ideal is currently facilitating a survey on how solid wastes are managed in different rural settings. These include traditional kampungs, orang asli settlement, modern agriculture settlement schemes and so forth.

The survey is carried out under the Government of Malaysia / DANIDA Solid Waste Management Component project.
