MYWARES – Malaysia Waste Reporting System

Malaysian-Danish Partnership Facility Programme (PFP)

Solid Waste Management Data Reporting & Quality Assurance System

Eco-Ideal Consulting and Veksebo Environmental ApS from Denmark are working together in developing Malaysia Waste Reporting System (MYWARES) – a demonstration unit for Malaysian.

Solid waste management (SWM) is a common urban challenge for all major areas including Malaysia. In the effort to improve management of solid waste in the country, the National Strategic Plan for Solid Waste was approved in 2005, while the Solid Waste Management and Public Cleansing Act was passed by Parliament in 2007.

Under these regulatory frameworks, solid waste management related functions, traditionally managed by the local authorities (LAs), are transferred to the federal government. The frameworks also include designing regulation and licensing of waste generators, transporters and facilities. Therefore, a comprehensive planning and monitoring system for waste flow are crucial.

In response to the urgent needs for standard data reporting systems, Eco-Ideal Consulting and Veksebo Environmental ApS from Denmark are working together in developing Malaysia Waste Reporting System (MYWARES) – a demonstration unit for Malaysian.

MYWARES is a comprehensive SWM data submission, QA and reporting system that enables:

  • Submission of standard data in standard format as per requirement on regular basis
  • User friendly web-based system
  • Quality assurance of data
  • Self updating by users
  • Readily accessible data and information for decision makers as well as relevant officers
  • Easy auditing, updating and summarised reporting

Malaysian-Danish Partnership Facility Programme (PFP) is a grant to support partnerships between Malaysian and Danish companies in order to transfer environmental technology/skills from Denmark to Malaysia – to support the sustainable development of Malaysia.
