6 OBJECTIVES of the Policy:

1. A SWM that is integrated and cost effective, which covers collection, transportation, intermediate treatment and disposal.

2. Minimisation of solid wastes from the domestic, commercial, industries, institutions, community and construction through 3R.

3. Services that are efficient and cost effective through privatisation, efficient control and supervision, as well as uniform standards.

4. Selection of technologies that are proven, affordable in terms of CAPEX and OPEX, and environmentally friendly.

5. Ensure conservation of the environment and public health.

6. Establish institutional and legal framework for SWM.
